Heal the Block LA was co-founded by community-rooted wellness practitioners who live and work in the neighborhoods they serve — including California-licensed acupuncturist Tranee Peevy, a Leimert Park resident, and certified sound bowl practitioner Amber Melvisha, a Crenshaw resident.

Their leadership brings together clinical expertise, lived experience, and deep community trust. This means our programs are not only medically grounded, but also culturally aligned and trauma-informed — allowing them to reach residents who are often overlooked by traditional healthcare systems.
